Description

Hi, I am Whyonnie Myles-Brooks, I am currently faced with the challenges of having breast cancer and I am among the over 20 vendors who have lost all our produce during the fire at Coronation Market on Sunday.

I was left devastated after learning that my stall with all the goods (peas, onion, escallion etc) that I’ve recently stocked up on were all gone in a fire in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday. To add to my pain, I am also a cancer patient who is currently undergoing medical treatment for breast cancer. I have already done my radiation and surgical operation from last year but I was informed that some lymph nodes have returned and are still visible in my breast and I will have to do over my chemotherapy, mammogram and also do a bone scan and a pelvic scan to see how they can be removed.ย

For the mammogram tests, the government assist with that payment but the cost for the bone scan is $28,000 JMD while the pelvic scan is for $7,500 JMD. As it relates to the lost of my goods in the market, I have lost an estimated amount of $90,000 JMD worth of produce.

Therefore, I am currently seeking the public’s kind assistance to just please help me to raise the well-needed funds to assist with my medical condition as well as to get back on my feet and re-purchase some food items for Christmas and to reconstruct my stall.ย

I will be very grateful for any little help I can get. God bless you.

Thank you.
